Fine Art Collection

Fine Art is a visual expression of human creativity involving skill and imagination. Allium fine art photography is mainly done for aesthetic reasons. In addition, photographic art is used to promote public awareness of Allium in general, and specifically to convey the beauty of Allium flowers.

The Fine Art Collection is shown in the following different parts.

Floral Art

The page Floral Art page shows images that are created on the basis of previously photographed Allium flowers. These digital works express the beauty and variation in the shape and color of Allium flowers through geometric and random patterns.

Flower Buds

The wonderful development of flowers is really beautiful when the flower buds are about to break open or when they have just emerged.

Garden

Most of the photos shown on this website are the product of photography in a specially equipped studio. However, some photos can only be taken in gardens.

Magical Realism

Magical Realism is a genre that depicts the real world as having an undercurrent of magic or fantasy. Within a work of magical realism, the world is still grounded in the real world, but fantastical elements are considered normal in this world.  This is characterized by the matter-of-fact inclusion of fantastic or mythical elements into seemingly realistic fiction. It is about mixing things up, the ordinary with the extraordinary, reality and unreality.

Paintings

By using focus stacking photography in a specially equipped studio with special lighting, photos are created that have the appearance of paintings. Delft pottery or glass is used to accentuate the appearance.

Seed Pods

The seed pods of Allium species provide unique images of the beauty of these long-lasting parts of the Allium plants.

Still Life

Allium Still Life photography refers to pictures that feature a particular arrangement of flowers.

For some images, it works better to have everything in focus; for others, it’s better to have a shallow depth of field. Clearly, exposure is a very important aspect of still life photography.
